The U.S. Department of Labor will host its national Workers Memorial program on April 23, honoring workers who have lost their lives on the job. The event, supported by Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Mine Safety and Health Administration, brings together families, industry leaders, and safety advocates to remember those lost and raise awareness about workplace safety.

The program includes a formal ceremony, wreath laying, and a candlelight vigil, all aimed at reinforcing the importance of preventing workplace injuries and fatalities. Observed annually on April 28, Workers Memorial Day also marks the anniversary of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, underscoring the ongoing commitment to protecting workers nationwide.
